Find out why Ronaldo missed Portugal’s victory over Croatia in the Nations League

The Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, missed his presence with the national team against Croatia on the opening day of the group stage of the European League of Nations, in which the Portuguese team holds the title.

The Portuguese team brought down the net against Croatia, the last runner-up in the world, with four goals to one in the match played at the Dragau Stadium.

And Fernando Santos, coach of the Portuguese team, had excluded Cristiano Ronaldo from the list of games because a bee stung his toe, which caused an infection.

Ronaldo underwent treatment under the supervision of the Portuguese national team doctor and took antibiotics to get rid of that painful toe injury, and he was unable to participate in the exercises.

The quadruple of the Portuguese team was scored by Joao Cancelo, Diogo Jota, Joao Félix and Andre Silva at 41, 58, 70 and 94, while Bruno Petkovic scored Croatia’s only goal in 91.

The victory put the Portuguese team at the top of Group C, as did the French team, which beat Sweden.

One team had won the European League of Nations last year over its Dutch counterpart.
