The Cairo Criminal Court, headed by counselor Abdel-Tawab Ibrahim, had ruled on September 9, 2018 that the former president of the Shura Council, Safwat Al-Sharif, was punished with 3 years in prison and a fine of 99 million 49,974 pounds, and his son Ihab was acquitted, at his retrial in the corruption case.
The sheriff was not jailed after the criminal verdict due to his pending release from the case and for not attending the verdict hearing.
At that time, the criminal court forced the “bailiff” to return such amount, in front of his wife “Iqbal” and their children Ihab, Ashraf and Iman, to the extent that each of them benefited from illegal profits, at the same time that forced him to pay criminal charges.
Safwat Al-Sharif had submitted a request for conciliation to the Illicit Profit Authority to resolve the cases in which he was charged with the state in exchange for the payment of the financial fees he owed, and set 36 million pounds, but the agency remitted his request to a technical committee to examine it and estimate the value of its fees, which was initially estimated at 210 million. fairy.
During the trial, the bailiff requested the postponement of the case in order to finalize the conciliation file with the Illicit Profit Authority. The defense also presented a declaration of cession of 4 pieces of land in the Fayed region, valued at 44 million pounds, in exchange for the deficit indicated in the report of the expert committee, in addition to indicating that the decisions were issued without a face. To present a case for the crimes attributed to his client, with a total value of 150 million pounds, but the court issued its previous ruling.
