A few hours separate us from the final of the next century between Zamalek and Al-Ahly in the final of the most expensive African Champions, in an Egyptian final for the first time in the history of the continent and the first between two teams from the same country.
Zamalek and Al-Ahly’s campaign will start at 9pm on Friday night at the Cairo Stadium.
The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced the appointment of Algerian international referee, Mustafa Ghorbal, as referee for the match between Zamalek and Al-Ahly, with the support of Moroccan Radwan Gaid as video technology referee, and Zambian Jani Sikazwi as fourth official.
The match between Zamalek and Al-Ahly will be broadcast on the “beIN Sports” network, the exclusive carrier of the tournament, through “beIN Sports HD 1” and “beIN Sports HD 7” with comments from Tunisian Issam Chawali.
The showdown will also be available on the terrestrial broadcast “Time Sports” for free and without encryption, with the comment of Medhat Shalaby, along with critic Hasan Al-Mistakawi for analysis.
Zamalek dreams of reclaiming the African Champions League title, from which he has been absent for 18 years, as his last crowning in the most expensive tournament dates back to 2002.
On the other hand, Al-Ahly are looking to crown the title for the ninth time in their history and the first time since 2013 to consolidate their record as the winningest team in Africa’s biggest and strongest club tournament.
