Ashraf Kassem, general supervisor of the soccer team in Zamalek, noted that they continue to prepare for Chad’s game, Gazelle.
Qassem told Zamalek’s official website: “The team continues its preparations for the match as normal, and underwent a Corona virus swab as part of the procedures followed.”
“We will continue to prepare normally for the match until the African Football Confederation informs us of the final position,” he added. “We are prepared for all possibilities.”
He concluded: “Things are going well within the team and there is a good situation between the players and the coaching staff before the next matches of the Egyptian League and African Champions League competition.”
The Chadian champion could not reach Egypt, to play the 32nd match of the African Champions League against Zamalek.
The mission was prohibited from traveling to Cairo, yesterday Sunday, by decision of the Minister of Sports there, due to differences between him and the Football Association.
Consequently, Gazelle officials filed an urgent complaint to overturn the minister’s decision not to travel, but it was rejected, as FilGoal.com knows.
As a result, Zamalek is awaiting a decision from the African Football Confederation (CAF) to qualify directly to the group stage of the tournament.
