Zamalek spokesman Issam Salem said the white club had reached a good stage in negotiations with midfielder Ferjani Sassi.
Essam Salem spoke on the Zamalek TV channel and said, “You hold onto Bassi to the greatest extent and he is aware of the degree of the love of the large audience for him.”
He continued: “Sassi has a great footprint with Zamalek, as big stars, and we have reached a good stage in the negotiations.”
He added: “The negotiations include two parties, and I, as a club, offer my capabilities, and the other party, if you understand that, things will work out and if they don’t understand them, then we must respect them.”
He added: “I think Sassi and his agent are eager to continue at Zamalek.”
When asked about Sassi’s arrears, he said: “Ayman Yunus, who is responsible for that file, put 85% of the arrears in Sassi’s account, while the remaining 15% is related to taxes.”
He explained: “These taxes are imposed by the state and are outside the club’s management.”
Essam Salem sent a message to Imam Ashour, the Zamalek player, and said: “If Imam avoids problems and focuses, Egypt will win a player at the highest level.”
And he continued: “The Imam must realize that many players have passed through Zamalek and Egypt, and they have been busy with things outside the stadium that have caused them to miss many opportunities.”
He added: “You shouldn’t be concentrating on what’s going on outside the stadium.”
Regarding the fact that the loan of Razzaq Cisse was cut from Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, he said: “I do not think this will happen. The agreement is to continue until the end of the season, and personally I would have liked his presence.”
