Ashraf Qasim, general supervisor of football in Zamalek, highlighted the importance of Ferjani Sassi, even in light of Imam Ashour’s brilliance.
“We learned a lesson last season when we lost a lot of points in the first round, and that is why we made a good start to this season,” said Qassem.
He continued: “The fans were afraid from the beginning of this season due to the force of the matches and we played matches outside our stadium, but we appeared with great concentration and strong.
He added: “Ferjani did not flee. There is confusion on the subject. He was out of the country for certain circumstances, which could be special circumstances, and we are not supposed to explain everything.”
He stressed that “he is now in Cairo and is taking part in training.”
He continued: “There is no reason to rush to hire. Khaled Rifaat, contract director, will meet with Ferjani Sassi, speak with him and transfer the situation to management.”
He stressed: “The brilliance of Imam Ashour does not diminish the value of Ferjani Sassi among Zamalek fans and players.”
And on the possibility of incorporating Hossam Hassan, Smouha’s forward, Qassem said: “So far the matter is not current, there is no official movement, perhaps there is only an oral negotiation through Khaled Refaat.”
He continued: “It is possible to sign a forward in the presence of Mustafa Mohamed. The league championship is long and needs many players, and we are competing in the African Champions League.”
And he concluded: “We also have distinguished youth on the offensive line and we want them to have their chance at the right time or win our youth.
