Liverpool crushed their guests Blackpool, seven goals to two, at Anfield, in a friendly match.
Blackpool, the third division team, surprised Alison Baker with two goals in the 15th and 33rd minutes, through Christopher Hamilton and Jerry Yates.
But Liverpool’s response was very harsh and seven goals, the first of which came before the end of the first half by Joel Matip in the 43rd minute.
Then came the explosion in the second half with a goal from Sadio Mane in minute 52, and then by Roberto Firmino in minute 54.
Coach Juergen Klopp resorted to directing his stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the 60th minute, pushing Divock Origi and Harvey Elliott. Adrian was also in goal in place of Allison.
The series of goals continued by Tarif, Elliott’s substitute in the 69th minute, and then it was Takumi Minamino’s turn in the 71st minute.
Another substitute was Divock Origi in the 85th minute, and Sepp van den Berg of the Netherlands finished off all seven goals in the 88th minute.
Liverpool will open their Premier League matches next Saturday with Leeds United at Anfield, before clashing with Chelsea and Arsenal in the next two rounds.
Liverpool lost the Charity Shield a week ago to Arsenal on penalties.
