Former Al-Ahly star Imad Miteb believes that Rene Fyler, the Al-Ahmar coach, did not look at his future with the team and took an incalculable step.
“Fyler is a good coach, he performed well for Al-Ahly and won the league, but he didn’t look away and just looked under his feet,” Muteb told Ontime Sports.
“He could have won more tournaments with Al-Ahly, won the African championship and participated in the Club World Cup,” he added.
“For me, thinking more about materialities is always losing thought, and that’s more or less what Fyler sought.”
He continued: “I wish Fyler was frank with Al-Ahly and asked to leave because he received an offer from one of the other clubs.”
He noted, “The name Fyler appeared more after he presented a good level with Al-Ahly, and therefore received other offers and before taking on Al-Ahly training, he was not well known enough.”
He concluded his remarks, “But Fyler dealt with Al-Ahly in this way and set impossible conditions for renewal. I didn’t like it, and so I applaud the Al-Ahly board of directors for the decision to thank him and hire another coach.” .
