Nicodemus “Nikki” Papavasilio, coach of Wadi Degla, praised his team’s performance against Al-Ahly despite the loss.
Al-Ahly beat Wadi Degla with two unanswered goals at Cairo Stadium on Matchday 24 of the Egyptian League.
“We came here with a lot of confidence and courage, and we managed to control most of the game without fear,” Papavasilio said after the game.
The Greek manager added: “I am proud of my players for their mentality against Al-Ahly.”
He continued: “We kept our game despite the late result.”
He commented on his team’s goal disallowed by video technology: “We made a goal that I saw in the locker room, this goal would have changed the game completely.”
