The Egyptian Football Association announced the eight recommendations issued after its meeting with Premier League clubs on Monday, which witnessed the discussion of the current season’s end date and registration periods over the next year.
The recommendations are as follows:
- The clubs recommended at their meeting on next season’s regulations to limit the number of foreign players to five players without classification or specifying their positions
- Install the winter enrollment period in January
- Participation in the main youth competitions of the same section in which the first team of the club participates
- Postpone professional league formation for next season
- The clubs asked the Football Association to find an alternative if VAR technology were to be stopped for reasons beyond their control, to ensure the application of the technology in stadiums.
- Ahmed Mujahid, president of Al-Ittihad, wanted the season to end in mid-July, but the presence of only 4 cars for VAR technology forces Al-Ittihad to hold matches each round for 3 days.
- The Egyptian Federation is sending a new official proposal to the clubs to modify the sports merit clause in the list of competitions, after it sensed that there is an injustice that may befall some clubs if it is applied in the current formulation.
- The Football Association is awaiting the Crisis Committee’s decision regarding youth competitions after raising the order on how to protect the Federation’s children to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The committee in charge of the management of the Egyptian Football Association headed by Mujahid met on Monday with the heads and managers of the Premier League clubs and heard a full explanation of the conditions of the competition that concern the participants.
Mujahid explained during the meeting that the decision on the number of people infected with Coronavirus of each club is intended to provide an opportunity to clubs that were surprised by the presence of infections among the ranks of their team to reorganize their conditions according to the new conditions, and not to continue postponing matches, since the infected player needs more than a month to return to the stadiums.
