What Liverpool fans were waiting for has now officially happened. Thiago Alcantara strips Bayern Munich naked and wears the Reds jersey.
Liverpool officially announced their contract with Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, a “long-term” contract.
Alcantara officially signed his contracts to join Liverpool on Friday, after undergoing medical examinations.
The English club did not disclose the duration of Alcantara’s contract, referring in its statement to the “long-term contract”.
The Alcantara deal is the second for Liverpool during the current summer transfer period, after Costas Tsimikas, left back, from Olympiacos, Greece.
Alcantara will wear jersey number 6 with Liverpool.
And Alcantara spoke of his move to Liverpool, saying: “I think it’s a wonderful and great feeling.”
“I have waited a long time for that moment. Very, very, very happy to be here,” he added in his remarks to the Reds’ official website.
“The Liverpool fans are not more excited than I am, I will give my heart on the pitch for my teammates and for my team.”
The 29-year-old began his football career with Barcelona, and was included in the teams of different ages before leaving the first team to Bayern Munich in 2013.
Before leaving for Bayern, Thiago played 100 games for Barcelona’s first team, scoring 11 goals and giving 20 assists.
Alcántara lifted 4 Spanish League titles with Barcelona, the Champions once, the Cup twice, the Super twice, the Club World Cup once and the European Super Cup once.
A career full of titles ended with Barcelona, and he started with Bayern from 2013 until his promotion to the Champions League last season.
With Bayern, Thiago has played 235 games in all competitions, scoring 31 goals and providing 37 assists.
Alcántara has achieved everything you can imagine with Bayern Munich. 7 League titles, 4 Cup titles, 3 Super titles, Champions League titles, European Super Cups, Club World Cup titles.
