The South African newspaper “Kick Off” claimed that the relationship between South Africa’s Sun Downs and Gaston Sereno had been completely broken.

The newspaper indicated the intention of the Sun Downs Club to hold a meeting with Sereno after the end of the Christmas holidays to decide their future.
The Uruguayan still has to play a minute in the league with Sun Downs, and he also did not participate with the latter in the preliminary round of the African Champions League, after he asked to leave Al-Ahly, according to the newspaper.
Al-Ahly offered Sereno “double the salary he receives at Sun Downs to attract the player to play under the leadership of his former coach Pitso Mosimane,” according to sources in the newspaper.
“The relationship between Sereno and Sun Downs has collapsed,” a source familiar with the Sun Downs told the newspaper.
“Sereno made things clear and announced his desire to leave,” said the source, who was not quoted by the newspaper.
“The club is already preparing for a life without a Sereno,” he added.
The leaders of the Sun Downs club are expected to hold a “decisive” session with Sereno after the end of the vacation, which ends on 27 this month, according to the South African newspaper.
Last season, Sereno played 41 games for the Sundowns in various tournaments, during which he scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists.
Al-Ahly tried to reach an agreement with Sundowns during the last hours of the last registration period, but this attempt was unsuccessful. (See details)
