Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer criticized what happened to his team’s players in their defense as Istanbul Basaksehir scored the first goal.
On Wednesday, United lost two goals to Basaksehir in Turkey in the third round of the Champions League by Group H.
Demba Ba managed to score a goal after being left alone from the center of the field and for that shot, the Norwegian coach said: “We forgot to defend ourselves from the striker who was in our stadium, this matter can be forgiven.”
And he added: “We were not well organized in the second shot on goal.”
“The performance was not good enough against a good team, and we threatened more than once.
“We had 45 minutes to tie and get a point, but we couldn’t. This match put us to the test of the fact that we won’t get three points easily.
Solskjaer emphasized: “It is not easy to be positive now because of the way we lost, but we have a chance to make up for what happened against Everton next Saturday.”
He concluded: “The result of the last two games was a punch to the stomach. The only way to respond to what happened is to achieve positive results against Everton, and we are happy that there is a match on Saturday that we have to play.”
United’s balance stalled at six points at the top of the group and Basaksehir secured the first three points of its Champions League history in his first appearance in the competition.
