Shawky Gharib, the Egyptian Olympic coach, revealed the reasons for excluding Wolfsburg’s Omar Marmouche from his list.
Gharib said via On Time Sports 2: “Marmouche’s exclusion occurred for technical reasons. We follow him in matches that he fought with a team during the Corona period, and currently he has to prove himself and participate in the matches.”
He continued: “We have many Egyptian players who, if they became professionals in Europe, they would participate and show their skills.”
He explained: “We have a lot of players in the offensive zone, despite the presence of Ramadan Sobhi, Taher and Mustafa Mohamed in the first team.”
He continued: “We have Salah Mohsen, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, Abdel Rahman Magdy, Nasser Maher, Ahmed Hamdi, Fadi Farid, Karim El-Tayeb, Sheka and Imam Ashour, everyone should have the opportunity.”
While he said through Ontime Sports 1 that part of Brazil’s Olympic mission has already arrived in Egypt.
He stated: “The first part of the mission of the Brazilian Olympic team arrived in Egypt and includes 7 players and some assistant coaches.”
He continued: “The Brazilian Olympic team will play against us with a roster of 23 professional players headed by Rodrigo, the star of Real Madrid.”
He highlighted: “The priority in the first team elections.”
He concluded: “Being in the Olympic team benefits the players and their clubs because they are assigned to participate and be part of the team.”
