Former Fiorentina player Alessandro Diamante revealed scenes from the early days of Mohamed Salah, the star of the Egyptian national team in Viola’s ranks in 2015.

More than 6 years ago, Salah went from Chelsea to Fiorentina on loan in the last hours of the transfer market, and it was one of the most important steps of his professional career.

“The first time he came to Fiorentina, no one knew Salah. He came from Chelsea, but he didn’t play much with them,” Diamante said in remarks released by the Liverpool Echo newspaper.

He added: “In his first training session with Fiorentina, he did not look good, and everyone was asking how Chelsea could include such a player. Perhaps this is the reason for his transfer to Fiorentina.”

And the Australian Western United player continued: “His first game was against Atalanta, he played the last 30 minutes and we started to feel his abilities and his speed.”

And he went on to say, “After two weeks, Salah appeared in a wonderful way, it was amazing.

The 37-year-old continued: “Salah seemed distinguished by his speed, his many skills and his ability to score goals.”

The Egyptian international played in the second half of the 2014-2015 season and scored 9 goals in 26 games, after which he moved on to Roma, who played in their ranks for two seasons.

“Salah was not as good as he is now. He improved a lot in the years that followed, especially with the finishing touch,” he concluded.

Fiorentina wanted the former Basel player to continue their ranks after the end of the 2014-2015 season, but Salah decided to move to Roma at that time.

Over the next two seasons, the Egyptian star appeared in the Roma shirt in 83 games and scored 34 goals, before joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017.

Salah achieved with Liverpool what he did not achieve with the two Italian teams, as he was crowned in the European Champions League, European Super League, Club World Cup and English League.

On an individual level, he has become one of the best players in the world in recent years, winning numerous individual awards.

In total, Salah played 191 games for Liverpool and scored 119 goals.
