Liverpool defender Andy Robertson believes his team’s attacking ribs, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Vermino, call for selfishness at times, highlighting their strong relationship on and off the pitch.
Robertson told the Liverpool Echo: “The relationship between the three Liverpool attackers off the field is very strong, and on the field everything is always fine.”
“But these players get huge salaries for being selfish, we need them to score goals and take risks in the last third.”
And Abizaid, the captain of the Scotland team, “when they are in front of the goal, we expect them to pay to find the net.”
He continued: “Sometimes people say that Salah could have passed, or that Mane could have passed, and also Firmino, but they get money to make split-second decisions to score goals for the team.”
Robertson continued: “The trio plus Diogo Guetta are great players and they have all shown it since they joined Liverpool.”
“Their relationship is as strong as any other relationship between the players of each line in the team, so we have had remarkable success over the last two years,” he added.
The 26-year-old completed: “You will not achieve any success without these strong relationships between the players.”
The trio led Liverpool to the Champions League, the European Super League and the Club World Cup in 2019, and then to the Premier League title in the 2019-2020 season.
Liverpool are currently at the top of the English Premier League by participating with Tottenham after 10 rounds of the new season, and have also secured qualification for round 16 of the Champions League at the top of their group. .
