Gaston Sereno vs. Ahmed Fathy in the Al-Ahly and Sun Downs match
Gaston Sereno, the playmaker of the South African Sundowns, agreed to move to Al-Ahly and work with Pitso Mosimane again.
The South African Kick of newspaper revealed that Sereno impressed Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of Al-Ahly, despite the team’s success in eliminating Sundowns from the African Champions League quarter-finals.
The site indicated that it learned of a session between Al-Khatib, Musimani, Sayed Abdel Hafeez and Amir Tawfiq on Wednesday, to discuss the position of the players and discuss the possible arrival of Sereno in the next transfer market.
A source revealed to Kick Off: “There is an agreement to join Sereno with Al-Ahly, and it is planned to be implemented in the next transfer period with the second round of the group stage of the African Champions League.”
He added, “Al-Ahly is looking to get rid of a foreign player, and the closest thing is the departure of Aliu Badji, who does not fit Mosimane’s style.”
“The only thing preventing the deal from being completed now in the current transfer period is that Sundowns is keeping more money,” he said.
The South African newspaper report indicated that the deal could reach 50 million rand (South Africa’s currency), or nearly $ 3 million.
The newspaper spoke in South Africa that Al-Ahly has completed his agreement with Taher Mohamed, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham and Badr Bannon and seeks to end the fourth agreement.
