The Raja Club decided to postpone their trip to Egypt, scheduled for Wednesday, pending the decision of the African Union Emergency Committee on their match against Zamalek in the African Champions League, according to Moroccan reports.
The semi-final first leg ended in Zamalek’s victory with an unanswered goal in Morocco on Sunday, and the return leg is scheduled for next Saturday.
And the Moroccan championship website stated that the Raja club made this decision, pending the response of the emergency committee with sufficient response to the request for postponement of the match, after 8 players in their ranks were infected with the Corona virus.
The team was scheduled to fly to Cairo on Wednesday by private plane.
The Raja team will undergo a new swab this Tuesday to detect the Coronavirus, in accordance with the health protocol established by the African Union, regarding its continental competitions.
The medical staff wants to ensure the safety of the team’s players and be at the level of their health, pending the final decision of the CAF emergency committee.
The official account of the Moroccan club Raja revealed that 7 cases were injured on Monday night, including 6 players, bringing the number of injured players to 8.
The analysis confirmed that the duo Abdel Rahim Shaker and Elias Al-Haddad were infected with the Corona virus, bringing the number of infected players to eight.
The duo will be added to Mohsen Metwally, Abd al-Ilah al-Hafizi, Omar al-Arjun, Anas Jabroun, Muhammad Azarida and Ayoub Neh.
According to the protocol of the Confederation of African Nations (CAF), in the event that 5 players are injured, the match will be played on time.
