The Raja club revealed in a new official statement their position regarding facing Zamalek in the second leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
The second leg was scheduled for Saturday at the Cairo Stadium, but the Mission of Hope has not yet arrived to prevent the Moroccan authorities from infecting 9 of its members with the Corona virus and forcing them to quarantine.
Raja revealed the following in an official statement:
“Yesterday Tuesday an urgent meeting was held between Faouzi Lakjaa, president of the Moroccan Football Federation, and Jawaz Al-Zayat, president of the club, to study the status of the epidemiological situation of the club and its impact on the second leg “.
At the initiative of Fawzi Lakjaa, on Tuesday night an official meeting was held between a delegation from the club and the director of the African Union (CAF) Competitions Committee to explain the force majeure that the Raja Club is experiencing from the sports side and administrative and request that the meeting be postponed to a later date.
Based on the above, the Raja Club submitted an official request to CAF at midnight on Tuesday to postpone the meeting due to the Corona cases and the impossibility of leaving Morocco in this situation.
The Al-Raja club clarified that it is still awaiting the decision of the African Union in this regard, and the decision will be announced by the club upon receiving the response.
