Djamel Salami, coach of Morocco’s Raja Casablanca, believes that the result of his team’s loss to Zamalek “is not fair”, as he himself put it.
Zamalek stung Raja and won 1-0 in Morocco in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semifinals. (See details)
The Raja coach said: “I am proud of the player’s performance against Zamalek. They did not fail, despite our absences.”
“The result of the match is unfair, and at least we deserved a draw,” he added in his remarks during the press conference.
“The referee was correct in his refereeing decisions and we were denied at least one penalty,” he said.
He went on to say, “One team was in the stadium, and it’s Raja.”
“In the second half we completely controlled the game, but we lost the finishing touch, and that happens in football,” he said.
Zamalek’s winning goal came through as wonderful as ever, Ashraf Bencharki, in the 18th minute, with an elaborate header off a cross and no more wonderful than Zizou.
On Saturday, Morocco was colored in the colors of Al-Ahly, who defeated Wydad with a double, and on Sunday, they were colored in the colors of Zamalek, who beat Raja with a goal for nothing.
Zamalek is preparing to host Raja next Saturday in the second leg.
