Ahmed Refaat – Ayman Ashraf – Al-Ahly – Al Ittihad of Alexandria

Al-Ittihad striker Ahmed Rifaat of Alexandria believes his team deserved to beat Al-Ahly in the two-team match.

Alexandria’s Al-Ittihad drew negatively with Al-Ahly in round 27 of the Egyptian League.

Ahmed Rifaat missed a penalty in the second half of the match.

Rifaat told FilGoal.com: “Since yesterday, we have heard that Al-Ahly is coming to Alexandria to celebrate the league title in front of us.”

“But we don’t hear from anyone talking about Al-Ahly playing a great team called Al-Ittihad from Alexandria,” he added.

And he continued: “That is why we all committed ourselves to the murderer in the field and achieve a positive result.”

He continued: “We deserved to beat Al-Ahly, not just a draw. We controlled the game from the beginning and imposed our style on the field.”

Regarding the penalty kick that missed, he said: “I deeply apologize to the coaching staff, the board of directors and the players for missing the penalty kick.”

“I paid 5 penalties this season and I scored 4 of them in the same way that I took the shot against Al-Ahly,” he concluded.
