Said Wahbi, the official spokesman for the Moroccan Raja Club, revealed the evolution of his team’s players with the Corona virus before facing Zamalek.
Saeed Wehbe told Ontime Sports 2: “Unfortunately, two new cases of the Corona virus were recorded among Raja’s ranks, bringing the total to 16 cases among players.”
“But so far, no player has completed his recovery,” he added.
“The entire team has players and a technical and administrative apparatus in quarantine in Morocco, and they are prohibited from traveling,” he added.
And he continued in his remarks, “The decision to postpone the game is in order, and I hope that we are ready before November 1 to face Zamalek.”
“The most important thing now is to cure all the players, and then we talk about football,” he stressed.
He noted that “the team will undergo a medical examination on Sunday and another on Tuesday, and after the results come out, we will know where the team is when traveling to Cairo to face Zamalek.”
“Our position is solid, and we have documents from the Moroccan official institutions that the team is correct, and we wanted to face Zamalek on October 24, with the evidence of the reservation of the private plane and the hotel residence in Egypt during this period of time, “he emphasized.
And he concluded his statements: “We need at least a week to recover all players from the Corona virus.”
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) previously decided to postpone Raja’s match against Zamalek in the second leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
Zamalek beat Raja in Morocco with a goal for nothing, and was scheduled to face Raja today, Saturday, but Kav decided to postpone the match to early November due to Morocco’s decision not to travel for the Raja delegation due to injuries of Corona.
