Former Portuguese technical director José Peseiro revealed some of his reasons for leaving the red castle.
“I worked as a coach in the golden generation of Real Madrid, which is the European Century Club, and in the Saudi Crescent, the Century Club in Asia and in Al-Ahly, the Horn of Africa Club,” Pisero said on OnTime Sports 2.
“After enrolling in Al-Ahly, I spoke to José Mourinho, who is my friend, and he was happy with this step because he knows the value and size of Al-Ahly,” he added.
“Manuel José also advised me to accept Al-Ahly’s training, and he described to me the value of the club and the intense state of love of its fans, so I was excited by this move.”
And about the reasons for leaving the Al-Ahly coach mid-season, he said: “I left the team to coach Porto, as everyone knows.”
He also explained: “When the team bus was destroyed by fans, this was the reason for the decision to leave Al-Ahly.”
“We went back to our houses, then we went to the stadium again, we played the meeting after being postponed for several hours, and we lost to Smouha,” he said.
Bisero took over Al-Ahly at the start of the 2015/2016 season and left after several months.
