Zamalek coach Jaime Pacheco expressed his joy at his team’s ability to finish the league season, ranking second, to secure participation in the African Champions League next season.
“We are happy to win and achieve our goal, and we try to take turns so that the whole team is fully prepared,” Pacheco said at the post-match press conference.
“Al Ismaily put us in difficult situations during the match, but with discipline we were able to win,” he added.
Zamalek beat Ismaily by three goals at Cairo Stadium on the final matchday of the league.
Regarding the pressure of the matches, the Portuguese coach said: “All the players deserve thanks for playing well despite the pressure of the matches and they are responsible.”
And on the injury of Abdullah Jumaa and Mahmoud Hamdi “Al-Wansh”, he said: “Due to the pressure, we are sure that they will quickly return to us.”
“We are preparing to face hope well,” he added.
And when asked about the crises in Zamalek’s management, he said: “I don’t know anything about the problems, but the administration gives us everything and we are working to make the public happy.”
Zamalek will face rival Raja in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals on November 1, after beating them in the first leg in Morocco with an unanswered goal.
