Enppi player Osama Jalal revealed that he came close to joining Al-Ahly on more than one occasion before, without the matter being fulfilled.
Enppi’s defender was one of the champions of the Egyptian Olympic team that won the U23 African Nations title last November and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.
“Shawky Gharib is the most influential person in my life,” Jalal said via Ontime Sports 2.
He added: “We all cried the day Taher got injured just before the African Championship.”
He continued: “Our goal was not to win the championship at the start, but to move up from the group stage alone.”
He continued: “I was surprised when people said about the inclusion of older players immediately after we won the championship. This was the time to celebrate.”
He explained: “I hope Mohamed Salah is at the Olympics.”
Osama Galal turned to speak about Al-Ahly’s interest in his services: “Al-Ahly’s negotiations started with me after my period in Egypt for the cleansing, but the matter was not completed.”
He revealed: “Last January, Al-Ahly spoke to me again, but preferred to bring players to other positions. They signed with Kahraba and wanted a forward, so they brought in Aliu Badji.”
He continued: “Negotiations were resumed from Al-Ahly again at the end of the last league, but no agreement was reached with Enppi on the financial return.”
And he admitted: “The first thing I think about is professionalism outside of Egypt.”
He stressed: “Any player who wishes to join Al-Ahly, the largest club in Africa, but this will only be done from the Enppi portal, the club where I grew up since my childhood.”
He revealed: “Zamalek recently spoke to my agent about my bond, and Ahmed Mortada spoke to me during the Corona period.”
He added: “I will pray for Istikhara if they offer me to join Al-Ahly and Zamalek.”
He concluded: “I hope one day to play for Manchester United and enjoy the Old Trafford atmosphere.”
