Raja’s Moroccan star Sofiane Rahimi underwent a delicate nose job after injuring herself in Zamalek’s match in the African Champions League.
Zamalek stung Raja and won 1-0 in Morocco in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semifinals. (See details)
The Raja club said in a statement: “Our player, Sofiane Rahimi, underwent surgery in a Casablanca hospital after the injury he suffered during the Egyptian Zamalek match, which caused a double fracture at the level of his nose.”
“The surgery was successful,” the statement added.
Rahimi suffered a nosebleed from his collision with Zamalek defender Mahmoud Hamdi “Al-Wensh” on a joint ball.
The statement indicated that the 24-year-old will participate in group training with the rest of the team next Wednesday.
The statement highlighted that Rahimi will accompany the team to Egypt to face Zamalek in the second leg of the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
Zamalek’s winning goal came through as marvelous as ever Ashraf Bencharki in the 18th minute, with a well-connected header from a cross, and no more wonderful than Ahmed Sayed “Zizou”.
On Saturday, Morocco was colored in the colors of Al-Ahly, who defeated Wydad with a double, and on Sunday, they were colored in the colors of Zamalek, who beat Raja with a goal for nothing.
Zamalek is preparing to host Raja next Saturday in the second leg.
