Ketabi Al-Hussein, Nahda Barkan’s media spokesman, highlighted his team’s willingness to play the African Super Cup match anywhere, noting that he had not received “sufficient” confirmation from the African Football Confederation (CAF) to celebrate the showdown in Cairo.
Al-Hussein said of MBC Egypt, “Nahdet Borkan is committed to what the CAF has approved, but the latter agreed with the Qatar Football Association to host the Super for three seasons.”
“We are not opposed to playing in any country, but we are attached to the agreement with Qatar. We have not made a decision, and a sufficient date for the confrontation has not yet been set,” he added.
Al-Hussein said in televised remarks days ago that he had refused to play the match in Cairo.

The Super Cup took place in the last two editions in Doha, and the Egyptian Football Association said that the 2020 edition will be hosted by Cairo.
A Moroccan report said the CAF set December 18 as the date for the match between Al-Ahly, the CAF Champions League champion, and the Confederation champion Borkan.
Zamalek were crowned in the Super Cup last February after defeating Esperance from Tunisia 3-1.
