Al-Ahly coach Pitso Musimani expressed his joy at reaching the final of the CAF Champions League, but stressed that his team had not yet won the title.
Musimani said on his club’s channel: “It was a tough match but we won. I think we did a good job in Morocco and we had to finish what we started here at home.”
He continued: “The good thing is that we checked in early in Morocco and in Cairo.”
And he continued: “We are waiting to see who we face in the final, but things are still difficult. We only reached the final and did not win the title.”
He added: “My message to the fans is to be patient as I am still trying to apply my philosophy and playing method to the team, and I really see an improvement in performance. We need time, but sadly we don’t have it now.”
He explained: “When next season starts I will work to improve performance, and in the end I am still new and we have to be patient.”
He concluded: “Wydad is a strong club, just like Al-Ahly.”
Al-Ahly edged Morocco’s Wydad by five goals to one on aggregate home and away in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
Al-Ahly will play the winner of Zamalek and Moroccan Raja Casablanca on November 6.
