Al-Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane said his team is negotiating to include Mamelodi Sundowns player Gaston Sereno and indicated that the player wants to leave and join him. Speaking to the South African Federation of Soccer Journalists.
Musimane said: “As you know, Al-Ahly, I was asking about the possibility of joining Sereno since I was coach of the Mamelodi Sundowns, that’s a fact.”
“It’s just the perception that I’m the only one who wants Sereno, because now I’m the coach of the team,” he continued.
And he continued: “It will always be related to me, I am not angry about that, because that will always be there.”
“You write those things all the time. You wrote before that I told Sereno that he shouldn’t go to help us win the second star (the second Champions League title), I was that person.”
And he added: “Here we always talk about Sereno, and this is the first time that I talk about it.”
The South African newspaper Kick of had made it clear that the player desperately wanted to leave the club and go back to work with Pitso Mosimane at Al-Ahly.
The South African report indicated that the club does not care about the player’s departure, but wants to benefit financially.

Musimani spoke about Al-Ahly’s interest in joining Sereno, saying, “Yes, Al-Ahly wants Sereno, they officially spoke with Sundowns, and that’s it. I don’t want to tell you a lot of things that happen.”
