Al-Ahly coach Pitso Mosimani thanked former Swiss coach Rene Fyler after winning the Egyptian League title.
Al-Ahly celebrated the crowning of the 42nd Egyptian League title after defeating Al-Talaa El-Geish by three unanswered in the final round of the competition.
Musimani told Ontime Sports after the game: “The league title with Al-Ahly was added to my resume and I thank Al-Khatib for giving me the honor of coaching the red team.”
And he added: “I thank the coaching staff, the players and the fans, because winning the league depends on them.”
The South African coach continued: “I came to Egypt and Al-Ahly were winning the league and I’m glad I haven’t beaten the team yet.”
“Our goal is to dedicate the African Championship title to Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly.”
On the postponement of the CAF Champions League, he said: “After postponing the African final, there is a lot of time between the semi-finals and the final, and I hope we keep the team well during this period.”
He noted: “In the next period, many Al-Ahly players will join the national teams, and I hope they return safely without injury because our team suffers from many injuries and cannot bear the injury of any other player.”
He concluded his speech: “I ask the fans to be patient with the team because we have not reached the level we want so far, and we will reach the required level with the passage of time.”
