He continued: “The Competition Management Committee issued instructions at the beginning of the season that unsportsmanlike conduct towards the referee or one of his assistants is sanctioned with a 4-game suspension, and on this basis issued the decision immediately.”
He continued: “The decision was not urgent on our part, but what happened was that the Competition Committee handled its affairs immediately according to what was written.”
He added: “After that, we met and were guided by the opinion of the referee committee represented by Wajih Ahmed and Azab Hajjaj. We asked them directly whether the match referee should be content to mention the incident in his report or issue an administrative report. penalty against the player “.
He remarked: “They both agreed that the referee had to declare the player a yellow card, and consequently he was sent off because it was going to be the second card, and the penalty for sending off after two warnings on the list is a suspension game.” , which is what was done. “
He revealed: “There are also technical reasons. Very clearly, we are not going to bury our heads in the sand. We will not take on the role of the screen monster and argue with the error and show big words.”
He explained: “We respect the public interest, and Al-Shennawi is Egypt’s No.1 goalkeeper, and Al-Ahly will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup next February, and he is Egypt’s representative in that tournament.”
He noted: “If Al-Shenawi is suspended, he will go to play the tournament without having played his previous matches.”
He concluded: “The best thing always with a professional player is to increase the fine and reduce the sanction for the technical benefit of the same by his club, the national team and the public interest.”
