Mohamed Ibrahim, the Egyptian player for the current clearing and former Zamalek, was eager to send a special message to Swiss Christian Gross after the latter’s decision to withdraw.
Gross Sunday suddenly announced his retirement from training. (See details).
“Gros is a great coach and he has a great personality. I learned a lot from him,” said Mohamed Ibrahim, who played under Grose’s leadership at Zamalek.
“I benefited a lot from Grose, thanks to the experiences he has,” he added in his comments to FilGoal.com.
He continued: “I was surprised by the decision to retire. He deserves to take over the bigger teams, and he certainly took responsibility for the best teams, including staying with us at Zamalek.”
He continued his speech saying, “I wish Grose success in the coming period. He deserves all the good.”
Mohamed Ibrahim played 28 games in 3 tournaments with Zamalek under Grose’s leadership, and managed to score 4 goals and failed to score.
The Swiss led Gross, Zamalek in 49 games and managed to win 31 times, losing 6 and drawing 12.
Gross lifted the Confederation Cup title, along with the Egyptian-Saudi Super title.
