Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek Club, revealed his intention to attend the final of the CAF Champions League from the Al-Liqa stadium.
Zamalek face Al-Ahly in a fierce battle that is expected next Friday in the final of the African Champions League.
Murtaza Mansour said: “God willing, I will attend the African final from the stadium.”
He explained in his remarks with FilGoal.com, “I will attend the meeting in order to support the players and the coaching staff and urge them to achieve the most expensive and important tournament in Africa.”
“The most important thing is that the meeting will come out in a way befitting Egypt’s name, in front of the whole world,” he said.
He went on to say: “The final is a very important event that will be seen by all Arab and African nations, so Egypt must appear in the best light.”
And he continued: “I will meet the players as I do before each fateful game.”
And on the arrival of his team to the semi-finals of the Egyptian CupMortada Mansour says: “No one can evaluate Zamalek’s performance and level in the cup match, as well as Al-Ahly’s performance and level.”
He explained: “The players are completely busy thinking about the African final. All of this is on their minds now. Al-Ahly was playing Abu Qir Fertilizers and the latter with 10 players and did not appear on his level for the same reason.”
He concluded: “Winning Club Egypt today is more important than anything to be able to continue the tournament, with everyone thinking about the African final.”
Zamalek scored an impressive 2-0 victory against Masr in the Egyptian Cup quarterfinal.
Zamalek are preparing for the expected confrontation with Al-Ahly next Friday in the final of the African Champions League.
