The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to appoint the Senegalese Majit Nday as referee for the second leg between Zamalek and Raja.
Zamalek will host Raja at the Cairo Stadium on Wednesday night for the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals.
The first leg ended in Zamalek’s victory with an unanswered goal, scored by Ashraf Bencharki.
The Moroccan site Le 360 sport revealed the appointment of Nday to manage the meeting and Bakary Jasama for the video referee technology.
Neither Zamalek nor Raja had savored a defeat to Senegalese Magit Nday in the matches he previously coached.
Nday managed two games for Zamalek and the result was a goalless draw.
Last year, Nday led the match against Zamalek and Nasr Hussein Dai in Algeria, while this year he led the Mazembe match in the group stage.
As for the Raja team, they achieved two meetings with the Vita Club in the Confederation Championship in the 2017-2018 season, the first in the group stage, which ended in a goalless draw and the other in the first leg of the competition and ended with Raja’s 3-0 victory.
Nday had managed the second leg between RS Berkane and Sfaxien in the Confederation semifinals last season, which witnessed controversial events.
Nahdet Berkane was compensated with two goals, without responding, to go to a 3-0 victory in the second leg, and the Tunisian national team attacked the referee and his assistants.
The Sfaxien players at that time accused the referee of prejudice against the Tunisian team and of counting a penalty in the eighth minute.
