Steve Kavina, CEO of Millwall Club, said the desire of the team’s player, Ramez Hefzallah, determined his choice of Morocco, not Egypt.
The Millwall CEO told FilGoal.com, saying: “The player is the one who refused to join the Egyptian national team and chose the Moroccan team of his own free will.”
“The club does not interfere at all in the choices of the players, since they are their personal decisions,” he stressed.
At the same time, a Millwall source, who requested anonymity, told FilGoal.com that the club was completely disturbed by the wording of the letter sent by the Egyptian Football Association to summon Ramez, may God protect him, to join. to the U-20 youth team.
He added: “We also sent a reply to the Egyptian Federation, to clarify the details of the letter, due to its lack of clarity, especially after we were concerned about the player’s request to pay for travel and accommodation, but we have not yet received no reply.
“We initiated an investigation into the incident and made sure that we did everything correctly, in accordance with the protocol followed in such cases,” the source concluded.
The Egyptian Federation’s letter to the Millwall Club stipulated that the player had to bear the expenses of travel, accommodation and all matters while being examined by the technical staff of the Egyptian youth team.
Rabie Yassin, the coach of the Egyptian youth team, previously said that the Football Association had already sent a letter to the Millwall Club asking to summon the player, but did not receive any response before being surprised by the player’s announcement for Morocco.
Rabih Yassin added: “Officials from the Football Association addressed the Millwall Club on October 4, with a request to include player Ramiz Hafez Allah for the Pharaohs Youth Camp during the next stage.”
He continued: “I requested that Ramez Hafez Allah undergo a technical test at the camp of the pharaohs and that he would play a friendly match during his stay, but no response to the letter was received, either from the club or the player.”
Ramez Hefzallah, 17, is of an Egyptian father and a Moroccan mother.
