Ibrahim Abdullah, a member of the Zamalek Club Executive Committee, revealed that the soccer team has the most expensive player contracts in Egypt.
The member of the Executive Committee denied the widespread rumors about the position of Ferjani Sassi and Mustafa Mohamed from the club or the rebellion against the team.
Ibrahim Abdullah said on Ontime Sports 2: “The Executive Committee is submitting its recommendations to the Zamalek Management Committee to make the necessary decisions.”
He explained: “At the end of the current season, the contract of Shikabala, Genesh, Obama, Fattouh and Sassi expires, so we began to negotiate the renewal with them because they have the right to sign for any other club, starting in January.”
He revealed, “Pacheco demanded the need for renewal for the players whose contracts were coming to an end, so we moved on and renewed their contract.”
“The contracts of any player in Zamalek of the current committee have not been modified, and modifying the contracts is illegal,” he emphasized.
He explained: “If there are contracts between two parties and there is no breach of contract, what is the reason for modifying the contracts?”
A member of the Executive Committee added: “The income from the members’ subscriptions, the sponsorship and the broadcast contract, and the rentals of the Zamalek fence do not cover the expenses of the soccer team.
Ibrahim Abdullah stressed that “the Zamalek club is the most expensive football player contract in Egypt, as the total annual salary amounts to 257 million pounds.”
“The crisis was due to financial delays in the soccer and other sports sector,” he added.
Speaking about the position of Ferjani Sassi, he said: “There is a mutual desire between the two parties and there is good news for the player during the next period.”
He continued, “Zamalek on Ferjani Sassi’s quotas, which were completely delayed for 4 days. There is a lot of diligence and rumors that we do not know his source regarding the player renewal.”
“Zamalek is doing his best to preserve the player, and this will be done in a very short period of time, faster than he imagines.”
And on the exaggerated requests of Ferjani Sassi, Abdullah responded
There has been no direct negotiation between the two parties, we want to maintain confidentiality between the two parties.
“Today we become January 4. If Sassi wanted to sign for another club, he would have done it 3 days ago. There is no dispute, but the story is in many rumors,” he asked.
Speaking of the position of the offers to include Mustafa Mohamed, he explained: “We received an official offer from Saint-Etienne to include Mustafa, but it does not match the skills and abilities of the player.”
“We only received an offer of 2.5 million euros from Saint-Etienne, and Mustafa Mohamed is convinced that it is less than he deserves,” he said.
He remarked: “We are not exaggerating our requests regarding Mustafa Mohamed. We are not asking for 100 million euros, for example, but even the personal salary of the French club is weak.”
He concluded his statements, “Among the rumors that spread the absence of the player from training, and this only happened once and it was with the permission of the coaching staff.”
