Maryam Al-Ruwaini revealed: “We had a one-year plan of action. The level teams appeared in just 45 days and most of the girls participated for the first time in an international match. “The dismissal decision is difficult, especially because we were in a period of stability, and after that decision, there will be damage, be it the coaching staff, the players, or whoever comes after us,” he added.
“We are the least affected by the decision, because our role has officially ended after the committee’s decision,” explained the administrator of the women’s team.
The women’s team was formed less than two months ago and the team played two friendlies against West Asian champion Lebanon, winning one and losing the other.
“The reason for the decision is vague and incomprehensible to us, especially since the Lebanon match was almost a test for the level of the players after a short training period, and thank God they achieved a positive result,” he added.
And he stressed that “if the dismissal decision was not due to a problem on our part or negligence, we would have expected to see the support of the officials after the bullying campaign that the team experienced, but their response was different.”
