According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, Barcelona will pay Liverpool 20 million euros when the Brazilian participation reaches 100 games in all competitions with the Catalan team.
So far, Coutinho has played 90 games with the Blaugrana shirt and will be out for several months due to the injury he suffered.
The report added that the article was easy to verify, especially with 10 games remaining to reach the figure, despite previous injuries and being on loan to Bayern Munich last season.
The report concluded that it is possible for a player to complete the season without completing all 100 games for Barcelona and then sell himself after the season is over.
Coutinho cost Barcelona 120 million euros when he moved from Liverpool in the winter of 2018, and then an extra 40 million euros.
Barcelona have already paid 10 million euros to qualify for the Champions League twice, and another 5 million after participating in 25 games with the team.
Coutinho’s contract runs until the summer of 2023 and he is expected to return to the contest next April.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has scored 23 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for the Catalan team.
