Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski believes he deserves to win the Ballon d’Or after his achievements this season.
Lewandowski led his team to the treble, and also won the title of top scorer in all three tournaments, the League, the German Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
Lewandowski told “ONet”: “We won everything possible. I am the top scorer of all tournaments. I think that if a player achieves all this, he should win the Ballon d’Or.”
“If Felipe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic participate in the 80th minute, then the opponent will say what happens?” He said about recent victories in the Champions League.
“This means that I am not going to stop the pressure, which makes them threatened,” he added.
And on beating Barcelona 8-2, he continued: “Before the game, we knew we would beat Barcelona. Some said we would win 5-1, but 8-2 is something completely different. We were very confident.”
And he added: “Before the game, Serge Gnabry and Joshua Kimmich did not ask me if we were going to beat Barcelona or not, but they asked me if we were going to win the Champions League and I said yes.”
In response to Real Madrid’s interest in his services, “At this moment I feel the support of Bayern Munich, which I missed a bit before, now I believe in the club’s project.”
He concluded: “I want to play at the highest level after 2023, and I have not yet thought about what will happen.”
Lewandowski, 32, has scored 55 goals in 47 games in every game this season.
The Pole scored in every Champions League match this season, except in the final, to clinch the title of top scorer with 15 goals.
