Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp explained that he had replaced Mohamed Salah almost an hour after his team’s game against Chelsea on Thursday, which was decided by the latter with a goal on matchday 29 of the Premier League.

Salah seemed unhappy with the decision of the German, who preferred to remove the Egyptian star, and the result indicated the departure of Chelsea.

Klopp commented on his decision by saying at a press conference after the meeting: “It seemed to me that Salah was frustrated, this is not a problem.”

The former Dortmund manager continued: “He may have substituted other players, but he seemed impressed by the intensity of the match and didn’t want to take the risk.”

“I’ve known him for a long time, he always looked ready. But it was a sign not to risk continuing,” he said.

Matt Critchley, a BBC Sports correspondent at Anfield Road, the bastion of the confrontation, said on Twitter that Klopp was yelling at Salah to return to defensive support 5 minutes before his replacement.

Salah, 28, wanted to complete the match in hopes of scoring a draw against the London club, but Klopp decided to take him out and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain entered.

Salah is this season’s top scorer in the Premier League with 17 goals.

Salah has appeared in 37 games for Liverpool this season, scoring 24 goals and sending 4 assists.

Liverpool suffered another defeat at home to continue their negative results and slow their score at 43 points and occupy the seventh place in the league.

Liverpool host Fulham on Sunday.
