Bilal Nazir, agent for Zamalek forward Kabongo Kasongo, wanted to apologize for what happened to the player after the end of the African Champions League final.
“Players are in a state of tension and nervousness after a game, so things like that happen sometimes,” Kasungu’s agent said.
“I apologize on behalf of Kasungu if any offense occurs to him during or after the match,” he added in his remarks on Al-Hadath Today channel.
He continued: “Kasongo is a committed player since his arrival in Egypt and has not caused any crisis.”
“What happened was a shaky stadium.”
Al-Ahly were crowned champions of the African Champions League for the ninth time in their history, after beating Zamalek by two goals to one. (See details).
After a seven-year absence, Al-Ahly claimed his favorite championship with the “Ghadara … Ghadara” stage, as described by match commentator Issam Shawali in an exciting match against Zamalek.
And that title became the ninth in its history to continue its single record as the most crowned champion and qualify for the Club World Cup in Qatar in February 2021.
Al-Ahly also guaranteed his participation in the African Super Cup next December in Cairo against the champion of the Confederation, the Moroccan Borkan Club.
This adds to that because that qualification for the final was No. 13 in Al-Ahly’s history, which is a record no one has preceded before.
Al-Ahly scored 36 goals during the Champions League last season, which is an all-time record that no one has scored before.
The previous number was 31 goals and was also registered in the name of Al-Ahly, equal to Enyimba of Nigeria.
Al-Ahly coach Pitso Musimane won the second African title in its history after winning it for the first time four years ago at the expense of Zamalek himself, but at the time he was the coach of South African Mamelodi Sundowns.
