Ismail Youssef, a member of Zamalek’s board of directors, believes that the idea of canceling the Egyptian league if it is carried out should not be seen as a champion of competition.
Ismail Youssef said on OnTime Sports 2: “If the league is canceled, the title should not be awarded to any team and the tournament results will be completely canceled.”
He added: “The difference in points between the leaders and second and third place with the number of games remaining gives them a chance to win the title.”
He continued: “Therefore, if the competition is canceled, it should not count as a champion, as it did in the 2011/2012 season when the Border Guard was the leader in the league table.”
“There must be an agreement between the clubs and the Football Association on the decision to be made regarding the league and it will be issued by majority vote so that no one will object,” he said.
Al-Ahly led the Egyptian league standings before stopping activity with 49 points, 16 points behind the Arab contractors in second place. Zamalek is fourth with 31 points.
