Zamalek put the name of Portuguese Josvaldo Ferreira as the main objective in his negotiations to choose the new coach, who will succeed Patrice Carteron.
Zamalek is still waiting for the definitive answer from the Portuguese coach, after renewed contacts in the last period to persuade him to accept the task of training the Whites.
FilGoal.com learned that Ferreira requested a deadline to respond to Zamalek officials in the next few hours.
FilGoal.com contacted Roy Aguach, assistant coach on Ferreira’s coaching staff, who was part of his coaching staff in Santos, Brazil.
Agwash, who previously worked in Egypt with Pharco, told FilGoal.com: “Ferreira has not contacted me until now to ask for my opinion on working at Zamalek.”
Guido Ferreira took over the direction of Zamalek in the 2014-2015 season, and won the League and Cup titles with the club, while the Egyptian Super Cup lost to Al-Ahly by three goals to two, and reached the semifinals of the African Confederation.
alternative plan
FilGoal.com also learned that Zamalek began developing a backup plan in case his negotiations with Ferreira were unsuccessful.
The name of Argentine Gabriel Calderón, former coach of Hilal and the Saudi national team, is a strong candidate in case Ferreira is not signed.
Calderón’s last stop was with Persepolis, an Iranian, who dropped out of training last January.
The name of former coach Jimmy Pacheco, the former coach of the team, is still on the table, and Pacheco had told FilGoal.com his desire to return to the white team. (Read details)
It is possible that new names will appear on the list of candidates to train Zamalek in the next few hours, following the failure of negotiations with Christian Gross.
FilGoal.com had previously revealed Gross’s apology for not agreeing with Zamalek’s training.. (See details)
