The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is going to approve that Al-Ahly player Moamen Zakaria is an ambassador for the final of the African Champions League this season.
It is expected, as FilGoal.com has learned, that Moamen will be the holder of the championship cup before the final match scheduled for November 6, between Moroccan Al-Ahly or Wydad, Moroccan Zamalek or Moroccan Raja.
The decision comes at the initiative of Hani Abu Raida, a member of CAF’s executive office, as part of a series of initiatives that were taken by the former head of the Egyptian Federation.
Among those initiatives, they discussed establishing a special donation project to care for the player and players who suffer exceptional injuries, either before or after retirement, and funding the project with a percentage of club contracts with players.
Also, the Football Association went to launch the name of the player in one of the pavilions of the new headquarters of the goal project on October 6.
FilGoal.com also learned that Abu Raida approached the Union of Journalists and the Association of Sports Critics to launch a special award on behalf of Moamen Zakaria, the value of which Abu Rida will pay.
Likewise, the Ministry of Sports, the Association of Professional Players and the FIFA Player Affairs Commissions have been contacted to study how to eliminate all the legal obstacles faced by clubs to settle the quotas of injured players.
