If you saw the match between Zamalek and Al-Mokawloon Al Arab in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League, chances are you were among the many who wondered in confusion where the new competition logo is.
Far from how satisfied I was with the level of creativity in the new logo design for the Egyptian League competition, I definitely looked forward to seeing him decorate the before and after clips in the first round matches.
But what happened was that the old logo was what appeared with the Zamalek and Al Muqawloon logos.
Everyone was confused, where is the logo presented by the Football Association at the league draw conference before the start of the competition?
Is the carrier responsible?
The “On Time Sports” chain, which owns the rights to broadcast the Egyptian League matches by satellite, has no control over the image broadcast on Egyptian television.
Therefore, it does not interfere with the quality of the image or the aspect in which the match is broadcast.
This also means that it cannot interfere with the imposition of the use of the new logo for the Egyptian League, as it uses it in analytical studies for matches broadcast over the network.
The company “Presentation Sport”, sponsor of the Egyptian League, governs the framework of the relationship between the National Media Authority and Ontime Sports Network. Therefore, any technical note related to the image or the address is made through Presentation.
It signals and is not an enforceable provision.
Therefore, FilGoal.com was in front of two parties that were responsible for the appearance of the logo on the screen of the league’s broadcast channel.
The Football Association must send the new logo to Maspero and to Maspero himself.
The Football Association disavows
FilGoal.com went to the Football Association first and asked a direct question. Did you send the new logo design to Maspero?
A source from the Football Association replied: “We have sent official letters to Maspero, which include all possible versions of the new logo for use in television broadcasts.”
And he continued in his statements on FilGoal.com, “We did not delay in sending the logo, and we made it clear to Maspero the need to use the new logo because the Egyptian league had no logo at all.”
“The logo used in the first round matches and in previous seasons was the logo of the Football Association, not the logo of the league, and therefore we are not responsible for it,” he explained.
Then he completed his statements: “It is possible that what happened was a mistake by the director, but we will go back to Maspero to emphasize the need to use the new logo.”
Maspero is lying
We did not stop at the Football Association, and FilGoal.com went to the sports sector on Egyptian television, to surprise us.
A source from the sports sector, who preferred not to be identified, said: “I challenge the Football Association to present a copy of the official faxes or letters that have been addressed to us with the new league logo.”
And another surprise, “an official from the Football Association contacted me during the match between Zamalek and Al-Mokawloon and asked me to delete the logo during the match, after some media mocked the use of the old logo.”
He continued: “I told him that it was impossible to ask the match director about this matter, and I asked him why he did not send us the new logo to use.”
He added: “He replied that the Football Association is making a number of amendments to the new logo and it will be sent at a later time, and asked us not to use any logos in the second round in case the Football Association delayed the dispatch of the final form of the new logo.
He concluded: “The greatest proof of the accuracy of my words is that the video technology (supports) in the matches were completely painted black and the new logo was not placed on them, although the old logo was present on them during last season’s games. “
FilGoal.com contacted Inas Othman, Zamalek and Arab Contractors Party Director, who confirmed that the league’s new logo was not available for use.
“No television director has ever obtained a copy of the new logo to use,” he said.
“The old logo was used in every game, not just the Zamalek and El Mokawloon game, which I supervised,” he said.
In the end, FilGoal.com learned that a meeting will be held soon between officials of the Egyptian Football and TV Association to coordinate some matters related to the television broadcast, including the use of the new league logo.
We can only wait for the second round.
