Some time ago, Mohamed Mahmoud, the Al-Ahly midfielder, complained of knee pain, which was the prelude to his third serious knee injury since joining Al-Ahly in January 2018.
As FilGoal.com knows, Mahmoud’s complaint, which he relayed to Khaled Mahmoud, the team doctor, raised suspicions about a knee cartilage problem, which is why the player preferred to undergo the tests with the knowledge of the medical committee of the club, headed by Ahmed Abdel Aziz.
At that time, tests showed that there was a knee cartilage problem that required surgical intervention, it was the third one on the player’s knee after a cruciate ligament injury in each knee.
Here Nader Shawky, the player’s agent, stepped in and coordinated with Al-Ahly on Mohamed Mahmoud undergoing a medical examination in Germany to make sure.
In Germany, doctors decided that the player should not need surgery and that adjustments should be made to his injury rehabilitation program.
In fact, the player went through the modified rehab program, but the player continued to complain of knee pain. And after completing the training program and returning to group exercises, it was confirmed that his rehabilitation had failed due to ongoing knee pain.
Here, Khaled Mahmoud decided, in coordination with Ahmed Abdel Aziz, to undergo an exploratory endoscopic operation, which confirmed that the player suffered a cartilage injury in the knee, and that there was no alternative to surgery.
Indeed, the player underwent surgery to treat cartilage, without a specific date for his return to the stadium.
Muhammad Mahmoud, from the Tigris Valley, suffered two successive injuries, cutting his cruciate ligament.
Mahmoud began participating in Al-Ahly’s training gradually over the recent period in preparation for his return to matches next season, before the new injury hit his ambitions in that matter.
