Ghanaian striker John Antwi of the Pyramids team wrote a new story in Egyptian football after his goal against El Gouna.
John Antwi scored Pyramids’ only goal against El Gouna on Sunday, and despite his team’s defeat, Antwi’s goal wrote a new story for him.
The goal is number 100 for John Antwi, accompanied by Egyptian clubs, to become the first foreign player to reach 100 goals for Egyptian clubs.
N.B: Egypt’s punt goal was counted in Arab Contractors’ 2017-18 season, and it was the goal in which Antawi scored a penalty that hit the post and bounced off the goalkeeper’s body and went back and into the goal.
John Antoy’s goal distribution is as follows:
72 goals in the Egyptian league
14 goals in the Egyptian Cup
3 goals in the CAF Champions League
9 goals in the African Confederation
2 goals in the Arab championship

The goal saw John Antwi equal Salah Amin with 72 goals in the all-time Egyptian League scorers’ ranking.
John Antwi arrived in Egypt in 2012 with Ismaili’s team, before departing in 2015 to the Saudi youth, and then returned to Egypt through the Al-Ahly Gate in 2017.
From Al-Ahly, Antwi joined Egypt to settle on loan in 2017, then fully joined them in the 2018/2019 season.
Starting in July 2019, Antwi joined the pyramids of Egypt for cleansing.
The 28-year-old was previously crowned the top scorer of the 2013/2014 Egyptian league season, accompanied by Ismaili, with 11 goals.
