Hamada Anwar, a member of the Zamalek board of directors, revealed why coach Jaime Pacheco adopted the defense in the first half of the team’s match against Raja.
Zamalek defeated Raja today by three goals to one goal at Cairo Stadium in the second leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
Hamada Anwar told “Echo Al Balad” channel after the match, saying: “I will not say that the first half was bad. Pacheo played to preserve the victory that was achieved in the first leg with no response.”
He continued: “When the result changed and Raja scored the goal of progression in his offensive game, I will not say that we played poorly in the first half. It was a way of playing that he wanted to advance to the final.”
A member of the Zamalek board added: “Pacheco played the same as in the first leg. If we score a goal, we will win, and if we don’t score, we won’t concede a goal, but he changed everything after we received a goal from Raja and he helped him. for the abilities of all Zamalek players to change the way they play. “
Regarding the three goals, he said: “The calm that characterized all the players before scoring the goals was wonderful and indicates the weight of everyone on the field.”
And he added: “All the players were in top form and Pacheco made his substitutions late because he felt reassured by the solid performance of all the players, and the Portuguese coach managed the game well.
And on facing Al-Ahly in the final, he said: “This is definitely an achievement for Egyptian football.”
Zamalek held a fiery date with their traditional rival Al-Ahly at the Burj Al Arab stadium at the end of the century on November 27.
