Essam El-Hadary, a former Egyptian and Al-Ahly star, explained that he had received an offer from the Moroccan club Wydad to be the team’s goalkeeping coach.
The icon of the pharaohs saidFilGoal.com: “I received an offer from Wydad to train goalkeepers through agents from Morocco, and he also spoke with the club’s leaders.”
“I said before, I will work in a great national team or club, this is a prerequisite and principle that I started working as a goalkeeping coach. I appreciate the offer because Wydad is a great team. Al-Hadari, 47, continued.
El-Hadary, the four-time African Cup champion with the pharaohs, walked away from football after retiring in 2019.
Al-Hadari played for Damietta, Al-Ahly, Sion, Al-Ismaili, Zamalek, Al-Merrikh Al-Sudani, Al-Ittihad, Tigris Valley and Saudi Cooperation, and concluded his career with the Al-Nujoom team.
El-Hadary represented Egypt in 157 games and is the third player to participate in more clashes with the pharaohs, after Ahmed Hassan (184) and Hussam Hassan (176).
And Al-Hadary is the record holder as the oldest player to participate in a World Cup match, when he represented Egypt against Saudi Arabia in the 2018 World Cup at the age of 45 years and 5 months.
