Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed the reason for Argentine Sergio Agüero’s departure from West Ham, noting that “injury is the reason.”

Manchester City tied West Ham with one goal for each team on matchday six of the Premier League.

Agüero participated before leaving the field between the two halves. (See details)

“Agüero is out with the injury. He has a muscle injury,” Guardiola said.

“I think it is a posterior muscle injury. We will wait for the tests and see,” he added in his remarks during the post-match press conference.

And about his team’s tie against West Ham, “We started the game very well, but it shook us the first time Lost Ham got to goal,” Pape said.

“West Ham defended very deeply, but we could have scored late in the game and we didn’t.”

“I think we didn’t play bad, except for the last 10 minutes of the first half,” Guardiola said.

And he continued: “I am a person who cannot predict what will happen in the future. We have already lost 7 points so far and this is a lot, but we are fighting a lot for many reasons.”

“We have to make things coincide with a match and we’ll see what happens,” he said.

West Ham ended a nine-game losing streak against Manchester City in all competitions, racking up a point for the first time against City since January 2016.

8 matches in the English Premier League out of 9 in which City beat the Hammers.

Michael Antonio offered the hosts first, and in the second half substitute Phil Foden scored the equalizer.

It tied to raise the balance of the two teams to 8 points, but City played a smaller game, to remain together in 10th and 11th places.
